Aerospace Engineering (Ph.D.)

Kerri Phillips

My name is Kerri Phillips and I am from Weirton, WV. I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. in aerospace engineering at WVU. I graduated with dual bachelor’s degrees in mechanical and aerospace engineering from WVU in 2007, and during that time I participated in internships with both NASA and Boeing. I was a member of the WVU Microgravity Team and had the opportunity to conduct an experiment in a weightless environment aboard NASA’s Weightless Wonder aircraft. My current research is in aircraft system identification and flight controls for unmanned aerial vehicles under Dr. Marcello Napolitano. In my free time, I volunteer for animal rescues, work with a student organization that I co-founded with seven other students called the Student Partnership for the Advancement for Cosmic Exploration (SPACE), and cheer on our 14-Time National Champion WVU Rifle Team! Let’s Go Mountaineers!
